Bridges Authentic PPIE training equips participants to design and implement authentic PPIE (patient public involvement and engagement) approaches in their research projects and establish and maintain strong relationships with public contributors.
This training builds researchers’:
- Ability to outline key considerations for establishing and sustaining effective PPIE groups within research projects
- Understanding of how to embed PPIE throughout the research lifecycle, ensuring it is integral rather than an add on activity
- Capability to apply practical strategies that promote diversity, equity and inclusion within PPIE recruitment, participation and group dynamics
- Skills in defining and communicating clear ways of working, including roles, responsibilities and expectations for both researchers and PPIE contributors
- Ability to recognise and create opportunities for PPIE members to contribute their skills, lived experience and strengths meaningfully within research projects
The Course:
- One highly interactive 3-hour online workshop
- Contextualised to the needs of participants and teams
- Opportunities for participants to reflect on their own research and begin developing or refining their own PPIE plan
- Activities to help participants identify barriers to inclusive involvement and develop strategies to improve diversity, equity and inclusion
- Guidance on establishing roles, responsibilities, expectations and ways of working
This is really valuable and I’m hoping to get collaborators to attend in the future.
I have some clear areas for further development of engagement so that it is possible to build a future co-design plan with collaborators.
All of it was helpful, I did really enjoy the breakout rooms and discussions.
